What is Keystone?


The Keystone Class is focused on providing one major goal:

To allow students the opportunity to develop life skills that will enhance professional and occupational behaviors.

The students will develop behaviors in four major areas: Organizational skills, interpersonal communication, leadership skills, and career exploration.

Curriculum Ideas


-Sign agenda contracts and use agendas daily to enhance time-management skills.

-Write weekly goals and set long-term goals.

-Practice formal introductions and learn how to introduce speakers.

-Invite administrators to our class.

-Create a business card.

-Introduce yourself to three adults in the building and acquire signatures on the back of the business card.

-Develop proficient letter writing skills.

-Recite "One Man Awake" poem by memory in front of peers.

-Design a budget and investigate salaries of various careers.

-Prepare questions for speakers in the areas of communication, law enforcement, and health professions.

-Participate in the application process, cover letter writing, resume writing, interviewing skills, job shadowing, and PowerPoint presentations.
